Are you looking for a way to factory reset your Sony Soundbar? Well, you can do that in a few simple steps, with this article guiding you all the way to the end. Sony soundbars are among the most popular and widely sold soundbar devices on the market. But that does not warrant an error-free device. Even the best Sony soundbars might cause some trouble due to minor glitches.
When problems such as trouble connecting to WiFi, Bluetooth, and other subwoofers and speakers occur, resetting will help you resolve the issue. Apart from that, if you wish to resell or exchange your Sony soundbar, it is necessary to do a hard reset to wipe out all saved data. Do not leave any trace of your information on the device while selling it.
Based on the issue, you can either perform a soft reset or a factory reset (hard reset). Here, I have mentioned the steps involved in resetting different models of Sony Soundbar in detail. Have a look at them and do a reset on your Sony soundbar all by yourself.
Reasons to Reset Your Sony Soundbar
There is absolutely no need to do a hard reset on your Sony Soundbar for minor issues. There are several other troubleshooting fixes that you can try first, including a soft reset when your Sony soundbar is not working. If those methods were not helpful in solving your problem, then you can perform a hard reset. Here are some of the issues that might need a reset.
- Issues connecting the Sony soundbar to the subwoofer, WiFi, Bluetooth, speaker, or subwoofer wirelessly.
- If there is no sound or there is an interference with the stereo.
- Connects to the internet but is not able to stream online music or through other music apps.
- The soundbar keeps disconnecting from the internet and Bluetooth.

A soft reset, unlike a hard reset, will not erase your data. It is more or less similar to doing a power cycle in order to get rid of minor bugs and glitches.
1. Completely turn off your Sony Soundbar and disconnect it from its power supply.
2. Remove all cables connected to it and wait for about 2 minutes for the remaining power to drain out.
Note: While waiting, you can also press the Power button on the soundbar to boost the draining process.
